2015 / 20161 / 6 Estonian Skating Union EUL CLASSIFICATION 2015/2016Beginners Pre-chicks: 2009 and younger Beginners I 2007/2008 (Chicks):Free skating 2:00 min. +/-10 sec.Free skating requirements (for both boys and girls):a) max. 4 jump elements, of whichi) max. two (2) jump combinations or sequences. Combinations may consist of only two jumps. The number of jumps in the sequence is not regulated, but only 2 more difficult jumps are countedii) Axel and 2x jumps are not allowed b) max. two (2) different spins c) One step sequence that covers the entire rink. The step sequence is given a level and the quality of the performance is evaluated. Components to be evaluated are:• Skating skills (skating ability)• Performance/execution (performance/execution) Component factor is 2.5. In all elements for which levels are assigned, features are only considered up to level 2. Other features are not considered for level assignment.Beginners "Axel" 2007/2008 (Chicks Axel):Free skating 2:00 min.+/-10 sec.Free skating requirements (for both boys and girls):a) max. 4 jump elements, of whichi) one (1) must be an Axel-type jump.ii) max. two (2) jump combinations or sequences. Combinations may consist of only two jumps. The number of jumps in the sequence is not regulated, but only 2 more difficult jumps are countedb) max. 2 different spins, of whichi) one (1) spin combination with a foot change or without (min. five (5) rotations in total) orii) one (1) spin without a position change with a foot change or without (min. five (5) rotations in total). Spin entry from a jump is allowed.c) One (1) step sequence that covers the entire rink. The step sequence is given a level and the quality of the performance is evaluated. Components to be evaluated are:• Skating skills (skating ability)• Performance/execution (performance/execution) Component factor is 2.5. In all elements for which levels are assigned, features are only considered up to level 2. Other features are not considered for level assignment.ISU system evaluation, some modified criteria (adaptations for children/youth categories):1. Evaluation criteria are ISU Comm.1944 and related annexes. 2. Not more than two 1x and 2x jumps (including 1A) can be performed in the program. 3. Vocal music is allowed. 4. Music duration – every 5 seconds more than allowed results in a 0.5 point penalty. 5. Fall – 0.5 point penalty. 6. In the free skating program, there is no bonus for difficult elements performed in the second part.7. Protest can be filed no later than 48 hours after the announcement of the competition results. Protest can be filed if there are arithmetic errors or incorrectly entered elements in the protocol. In case of an incorrectly entered element, all members of the technical panel (Technical Controller, both technical specialists, and Data Operator) must agree to correct the error. The recording made by the competition organizers is taken into account. The cost of filing a protest is 50€. The protest must be submitted to the category referee in writing. If the referee is not available, the protest must be submitted to the competition secretariat. (ISU Rule 123)8. At EUL championship events, athletes are allowed to participate in higher categories according to the technical requirements of the given category.

Neither the short nor the free skating program provides a bonus for difficult elements performed in the second part.Free skating requirements (for both boys and girls):a) max. 5 jump elements for girls and 6 jump elements for boys, of whichi) one (1) must be an Axel-type jump.ii) max. two (2) jump combinations or sequences. Combinations may consist of only two jumps. The number of jumps in the sequence is not regulated, but only 2 more difficult jumps are countediii) Only two 2.5- or more-rotation jumps can be repeated in a jump combination or sequence.iv) Not more than two 1x and 2x jumps (including 2A) can be performed in the program.b) max. two (2) different spins, of whichi) one (1) must be a spin combination with a foot change (min. 8 rotations) or without (min. six (6) rotations in total) orii) one (1) spin without a position change with a foot change (min. 8 rotations) or without (min. six (6) rotations)iii) Both spins can be entered from a jump.c) Must have one (1) step sequence that covers the entire rink.   • has reached the age of 10
  • has not reached the age of 15 Advanced Novice programs - short program max. 2:30 and free skating for girls 3:00 +/- 10 seconds free skating for boys 3:30 +/- 10 seconds Vocal music is allowed. There are no bonuses in the short or free program for difficult elements performed in the second part. Boys' short program: a) Axel Paulsen (1A) or double Axel Paulsen (2A) b) Double (2x) or triple (3x) jump from steps (cannot be the jump in point a) c) One (1) jump combination, consisting of 2x+2x or 2x+3x or 3x+2x, and the jumps cannot be the jumps in points a) and b) d) Change-foot layback spin or sit spin (min. five (5) rotations), which cannot be entered from jumps e) Only one change-foot spin combination (min. five (5) rotations on each foot). Spin entry from a jump is allowed. f) One (1) step sequence, which covers the entire rink. Girls' short program: a) Axel Paulsen (1A) or double Axel Paulsen (2A) b) Double (2x) or triple (3x) jump from steps (cannot be the jump in point a) c) One jump combination, consisting of 2x+2x or 2x+3x or 3x+2x, and the jumps cannot be the jumps in points a) and b) d) Layback spin (min. six (6) rotations) e) Only one change-foot spin combination (min. five (5) rotations on each foot). Spin entry from a jump is allowed. f) One (1) step sequence, which covers the entire rink. Jumps that do not meet the short program requirements (wrong number of rotations), will not be valued. Free program (for both boys and girls): a) max. 6 jump elements for girls and 7 for boys, of which i) one (1) must be an Axel-type jump. ii) max. two (2) jump combinations or sequences. Combinations can consist of only two jumps. The number of jumps in sequences is not regulated, but only two most difficult jumps are counted. iii) Only two 3- or more-rotation jumps can be repeated in jump combinations or sequences. iv) No 1x and 2x jumps (including 2A) can be performed more than twice in the program.
