A-CLASS

Beginners I A 2018 and younger (Pre-chicks A):

Free skating 2:00 min. +/-10 sec.

Free skating requirements (for both boys and girls):

• a) max. 4 jump elements, of which

• • i) max. two (2) jump combinations or one (1) jump combination and one (1) jump sequence. Jump combinations and sequences may consist of only two jumps. In jump sequences, the second jump must be an Axel-type jump, i.e. with a takeoff from the edge of the first jump's landing directly to the edge of the Axel's takeoff.

• b) max. two (2) different spins

• c) one choreographic sequence, which consists of a minimum of two different skating movement elements.

Components to be evaluated are:

• ● Composition

• ● Presentation

• ● Skating skills

Component factor is 1.67

Music selection must be suitable for both the skater and their age.

In all elements where levels are assigned, features are only evaluated up to level 2. Other features are not evaluated for level assignment.

Beginners II A 2016/2017 (Chicks A):

Free skating 2:00 min.+/-10 sec.

Free skating requirements (for both boys and girls):

• a) max. 4 jump elements, of which

• • i) one (1) Axel-type jump
• • ii) max. two (2) jump combinations or one jump combination and one jump sequence. Jump combinations and sequences may consist of only two jumps. In jump sequences, the second jump must be an Axel-type jump, i.e. with a takeoff from the edge of the first jump's landing directly to the edge of the Axel's takeoff. Jumps performed in sequences receive full value.

• b) max. two (2) different spins (min. four (4) rotations). In the case of a spin with a change of foot, only one level feature is evaluated per foot.

• c) one step sequence that covers the entire ice surface and includes at least one skating movement element, such as a spiral, spread eagle, Ina Bauer, hydroblading, etc. If a skating movement element is missing, no level is awarded. At least two double turns and steps must be performed with clean edges to achieve the base level. The technical panel does not evaluate the following elements: Feature 3) use of body movements for at least 1/3 of the pattern and Feature 4) two combinations of three difficult turns on different feet.

Components to be evaluated are:

i) one (1) Axel-type jump

ii) max. two (2) jump combinations or one jump combination and one jump sequence. Jump combinations and sequences may consist of only two jumps. In jump sequences, the second jump must be an Axel-type jump, i.e. with a takeoff from the edge of the first jump's landing directly to the edge of the Axel's takeoff.

• b) max. 2 different spins, of which

i) one (1) spin combination with a change of foot (min. eight (8) rotations in total) or without a change of foot (min. six (6) rotations in total). In the case of a spin combination with a change of foot, only one level feature is evaluated per foot. Jump entry is not allowed.

ii) one (1) spin without a change of foot and in one position (min. eight (8) rotations in total) or without a change of foot (min. six (6) rotations in total). In the case of a spin with a change of foot, only one level feature is evaluated per foot. Jump entry is allowed.

• c) one step sequence that covers the entire ice surface and includes at least one skating movement element, such as a spiral, spread eagle, Ina Bauer, hydroblading, etc. If a skating movement element is missing, no level is awarded. At least two double turns and steps must be performed with clean edges to achieve the base level. Age requirements - single skaters girls and boys: before July 1 of the current season, they must not have turned 14 years old.

• • i) one (1) Axel-type jump
• • ii) max. two (2) jump combinations or one jump combination and one jump sequence.
• • iii) 3x and 4x jumps are not allowed.
• • iv) Only one 1x and one 2x jump (including 2A) can be repeated in the program.

Jump combinations and sequences may consist of only two jumps.

In jump sequences, the second jump must be an Axel-type jump, i.e. with a takeoff from the edge of the first jump's landing directly to the edge of the Axel's takeoff. Jumps performed in sequences receive full value.

• b) max. 2 different spins, of which

ii) one (1) spin in one position and without a change of foot (min. six (6) rotations). The spin is performed in the base position without difficult variations, and its maximum level is the base level. After the required number of rotations, difficult variations are allowed, but the technical panel does not evaluate them. Jump entry is not allowed.

• c) one (1) step sequence that covers the entire ice surface and includes at least one skating movement element, such as a spiral, spread eagle, Ina Bauer, hydroblading, etc. If a skating movement element is missing, no level is awarded. At least two double turns and steps must be performed with clean edges to achieve the base level. The technical panel does not evaluate the following elements: Feature 3) use of body movements for at least 1/3 of the pattern and Feature 4) two combinations of three difficult turns on different feet.

Age requirements - single skaters, girls and boys: not reached the age of 16 before July 1st of the current season.

Requirements for free skating program (for both boys and girls):

• a) max. 5 jump elements, of which

• • iii) 3x and 4x jumps are not allowed.
• • iv) Only one 1x and one 2x jump (including 2A) can be repeated in the program.
• • i) one (1) spin combination with a change of foot (min. 8 revolutions) or without a change of foot (min. 6 revolutions). For spin combinations with a change of foot, only one level feature per foot will be counted. Jump entry is not allowed.
• • ii) one (1) spin in one position with a change of foot (min. 8 revolutions in total) or without a change of foot (min. 6 revolutions). Jump entry is allowed.

i) one (1) Axel-type jump

ii) max. two (2) jump combinations or one jump combination and one jump sequence. Combinations and sequences can consist of only two jumps. In jump sequences, the second jump must be an Axel-type jump, i.e., taking off directly from the edge of the first jump's landing to the edge of the Axel's takeoff. Jumps executed in a sequence will receive full value.

• b) max. two (2) different spins, of which

• c) max. one (1) step sequence, which covers the entire ice surface and includes at least one movement element, such as a spiral, spread eagle, Ina Bauer, hydroblading, etc. If the movement element is missing, no level will be awarded. At least two (2) turns and steps must be executed on clean edges to achieve the base level. The technical panel will not evaluate the following elements: Feature 3) use of body movement for at least 1/3 of the pattern and Feature 4) two combinations of three difficult turns on different feet.

ADVANCED NOVICE (ISU Comm. 2624)

Advanced Novice programs - short program max. 2:20 +/- 10 sec and

free skating program 3:00 +/- 10 sec.

Age requirements: before July 1st of the current season

• have reached the age of 10
• have not reached the age of 16

Boys' short program:

• a) Single Axel Paulsen (1A) or double Axel Paulsen (2A)

• b) Double (2x) or triple (3x) jump (cannot be the jump in point a)

• c) One (1) jump combination consisting of 2x+2T or 2x+3T or 3x+Tx, and the second jump is a toe loop (for the 2024/2025 season). Jumps cannot be the same as in points a) and b).

• d) Upright spin with a change of foot (min. 5 revolutions on each foot) (for the 2024/2025 season). Spin entry from a jump is not allowed..

• e) Only one spin combination with a change of foot (min. 5 revolutions on each foot). Spin entry from a jump is not allowed.

• f) One (1) step sequence, which covers the entire ice surface. For level 4 - Two combinations of three (3) difficult turns on different feet: combinations must include a forward outside edge and a backward inside edge (2024/25 season). These can be in the same combination or one in the first and one in the second combination. Only one difficult turn can be repeated once in these two combinations. To achieve the base level, at least two (2) difficult turns and steps must be executed on clean edges.

Girls' short program:

• a) Single Axel Paulsen (1A) or double Axel Paulsen (2A)

• b) Double (2x) or triple (3x) jump (cannot be the jump in point a)

• c) One (1) jump combination consisting of 2x+2T or 2x+3T or 3x+Tx, and the second jump is a toe loop (for the 2024/2025 season). Jumps cannot be the same as in points a) and b).

• c) Sit spin to the back or side or upright spin without a change of foot (min. 6 revolutions). Jump entry is not allowed (for the 2024/2025 season).

• d) Only one spin combination with a change of foot (min. 5 revolutions on each foot). Jump entry is not allowed.

• e) One (1) step sequence, which covers the entire ice surface. For level 4 - Two combinations of three (3) difficult turns on different feet: combinations must include a forward outside edge and a backward inside edge (2024/25 season). These can be in the same combination or one in the first and one in the second combination. Only one difficult turn can be repeated once in these two combinations. To achieve the base level, at least two (2) difficult turns and steps must be executed on clean edges.

Jumps that do not meet the short program requirements (wrong number of revolutions), will not be valued. If the same jump is executed as a solo jump and as part of a jump combination, the repeated jump will not be counted (if the repetition was in the jump combination, only the jump that does not meet the requirements will not be counted).

Free skating program (for both boys and girls):

• a) max. 6 jump elements, of which

i) one (1) Axel-type jump

• • iii) Only two 3x jumps can be repeated either in a jump combination or sequence.
• • iv) 4x jumps are not allowed.
• • v) No 1x, 2x (including 2A) or 3x jump can be executed more than twice in the program.
• • vi) The same type of jump, regardless of the number of revolutions, can be executed no more than three times in the program.

ii) max. two (2) jump combinations or one jump combination and one jump sequence. One jump combination or jump sequence can consist of up to three (3) jumps, the rest only of two jumps. A jump sequence consists of two (2) or three (3) jumps with any number of revolutions. The sequence starts with any jump, followed by an Axel-type jump. The entry into the second jump is with the takeoff edge directly from the landing edge of the first jump to the takeoff edge of the Axel.

• b) max. 2 different spins, of which

i) one (1) spin combination with a change of foot (min. 8 revolutions) Jump entry is not allowed.

ii) one (1) spin with a flying change of position (min. 6 revolutions). A change of foot is allowed, but a change of position is not allowed (for the 2024/2025 season).

c) one (1) choreographic sequence, which consists of at least two different skating movements.

Age criteria rule 108, ISU Constitution.

Junior is a skater who, before July 1st of the current season, has met the following requirements:

i) has reached the age of thirteen (13) years;

ii) has not reached the age of nineteen (19) years.

Senior (International Senior competitions, ISU Senior Championships, and Winter Olympic Games) is a skater who, before July 1st of the current season, has met the following requirements:

i) has reached the age of seventeen (17) years.
