Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-07-14 — initial draft, pending legal review.
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of fsresults, the
figure-skating results archive published at bios.fsresults.info (the
"Service"), and any account you create on it. By using the Service or creating
an account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the
Service.
The Service is operated by Defency OÜ (Kirsi tn 8, Tallinn, Estonia) ("we", "us"). You can reach us at [email protected].
1. What the Service is
fsresults is a searchable, informational archive of figure-skating competition results, protocols, statistics and related profiles. Most of its content is compiled from publicly available sources (see the Privacy Policy). The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial, informational use.
2. Accounts
- Who may register. You may create an account to follow events and receive notifications. When you register you must give accurate information (including a real first and last name, a valid e-mail address, and your date of birth and country, which we use to apply the correct legal requirements).
- Age and parental consent. If you are below the digital age of consent in your country, you may only register with the verifiable consent of a parent or guardian, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may refuse or remove accounts that do not meet this requirement.
- Approval. New accounts are reviewed by an administrator before they are activated. Until then, and if we decline, you have the same access as a signed-out visitor.
- Your responsibility. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in method (passkey) secure. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been misused.
- One person, one account. Accounts are personal; do not share them or register on someone else's behalf without authority to do so.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service unlawfully, or in a way that infringes others' rights;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems, or to disrupt or overload them;
- scrape, harvest or bulk-download the Service's content except as expressly permitted, or re-publish it in a way that misrepresents it as your own;
- misuse personal data found on the Service (for example, to contact or profile individuals for marketing), or upload content you do not have the right to use;
- upload an avatar, nickname or other content that is unlawful, offensive, deceptive, or impersonates another person.
We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.
4. Your content
You may provide limited content, such as a nickname and an avatar image. You keep any rights you have in it, and you grant us a non-exclusive licence to store and display it as part of operating your account. You confirm you have the right to provide it and that it does not breach section 3. You can change or remove it, or delete your account, at any time from your account page.
5. Accuracy and availability
The Service is an archive compiled from third-party sources and provided "as is". We work hard to keep it accurate and will correct errors brought to our attention, but we do not warrant that the content is complete, current or error-free, or that the Service will be uninterrupted. Nothing here is official; for authoritative results, refer to the relevant governing body or organiser.
6. Notifications
If you enable notifications, you consent to receive them through the channels you choose (push and/or e-mail) for the events you follow. You can change your preferences or turn them off at any time from your account page.
7. Intellectual property
The Service's software, design, brand and original compilation are ours or our licensors'. Underlying results and biographical facts are drawn from public sources and remain subject to any rights of their respective owners. These Terms grant you no rights in any of the above beyond ordinary use of the Service.
8. Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of your agreement with us.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access, or remove content, if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or its users — where practical, with notice. Provisions that by their nature should survive (for example sections 5, 7, 10 and 11) survive termination.
10. Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from your reliance on the accuracy or availability of the content. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Changes
We may update the Service and these Terms. When we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, ask you to re-accept. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia and the European Union, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence. Disputes are subject to the competent courts of Estonia, again without prejudice to those mandatory rights.
